If I purchase zumba shoes, are they solely for use on dance floor or can they also be used outside the dance floor?

@Joan Ward: I wondered that myself on account of the cost. Further research convinced me that because their soles are so much smoother than, say, ordinary street sneakers, as well as thinner, one might be not only uncomfortable wearing them almost anywhere else, but also at risk of slipping and falling, especially if you encounter a wet surface, expected or unexpected/unavoidable. I went to a college with alot of dance majors: These seem more substantial than, say, ballet flats, but they’re still basically dance shoes, emphasizing flexibility of foot and wearer — whether one is ready, or not!

I think I’m about to buy a pair myself and start Zumba! Maybe I’d take ’em to the beach too, if the sand or boardwalk weren’t gonna be too hot that day/evening — they’re certainly cuter than my old beat-up beach sneaks! — but that might be about it. I just hope they at least last, ’cause they’re costing me as much as the whole Zumba Exhilarate kit itself! Good luck, Joan!
